Celestine

A large city set just outside of Istlun this was the capital of the Knights of St. Celeste after St. Celeste’s death. The Knights kept a close eye on Istlun, their old country, and sent many of their numbers into the destroyed country side in hopes of finding their gods body in order to resurrect her. Being a religious order with a dead god, they were commonly referred to as the Godless, the Knights of St. Celeste sought to keep tabs on the world they fought to control and were generally hated for their interference by the majority of the population of the world. Celestine now lies in ruins, a rakshasa sorceror of great power sacrificed the city in a terrible ritual as he tried to bring the Elder Evil known as Kyuss into the world. As the ritual began, acid poured from the sky, earthquakes trembled the city, and the whole of the city was destroyed along with most of the population. The attempt to bring Kyuss into the world ultimately failed, but the power unleashed in the ritual combined with the evil taint Kyuss’ brief presence left while the portal to his prison was open, as well as the horror of thousands of lives being extinguished at once mutated the remaining population. Now the ruins are haunted to undead, mutated beings, and horrors beyond description. Travelers usually give the ruins a wide berth, as the total destruction ensured that not much treasure (at least easily accesible) was left, and the creatures inhabiting the ruins know no mercy and slaugther any who come to close to the city.
